One of the basic features of the Deaf Studies programme is the fact that Deaf, hard of hearing, deafened and hearing students study side by side and that Deaf and hard of hearing teachers cooperate here. Since the establishment of the programme (i.e. since 1998), IDS has thus been providing interpreting between Czech and the Czech Sign Language and note-taking in the class and, where needed, also student assistance during studies, extra classes and tutoring and technical support. Since 2012, IDS has been providing its services to CUFA’s all Deaf, hard of hearing and deafened students (as well as applicants – provided that they apply for modification of entrance examination). IDS strives for further improvement as well as diversification of the services. Principles of providing the services are described here.
